The Uco Valley is located southwest of Mendoza, Argentina, at the foot of the Andes Mountains. With an altitude ranging from 2,700 to 3,600 feet above sea level, its vineyards have some of the highest elevation in Mendoza. This elevation, combined with its dry continental climate with cool nights and warm days, results in balanced wines with great natural acidity and aging potential. Eighty-five percent of its wines are red, with Malbec being the preferred grape, followed by Bonarda, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay as the white varietal. Malbecs from the Uco Valley are characterized by elegant fruit aromas of black plum and raspberry, with hints of black olive and cocoa.
