The Navarra Denomination of Origin (DO), located in northern Spain, is characterized by the wide variety of wine styles produced within its five subregions. This is thanks in part to its climate, which features Atlantic, Mediterranean, and continental influences, as well as its diverse landscape of plains and mountains. The first mentions of vine cultivation in the region date back to Roman times, and today there are more than 85 wineries. Here, traditional Spanish grapes combine with international varieties to create young or aged red and white wines, fresh rosés, and sweet wines. The red grapes Garnacha and Tempranillo predominate, accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, while the white grapes include Viura, Moscatel, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, among others.
